Wonderful laguna in Croatia and clever brains trick everybody

I got to Croatia and found this wonderful laguna at the bottom of a very steep hill that is not reachable with every car. This spot was so beautiful. After crossing the border and a little bit of downhill in Buzet, I spent two days here in the sun, meet a diver, a nice english couple and actually I did a whole lot of nothing. Crazy. These rocky beaches are very cool and you can walk and climb these rocks for a long time. And the beaches are stone-flitsch-paradises! 🎉

The border of Croatia was the first with barriers and an officer. I was a little bit nervous because of the covid situation etc. but it was very cool and I had a long conversation about Croatia, Germany, luck, working on digital stuff, life and so on. Croatia feels really different to me. Not in a bad way. I can’t explain this feeling.

Before I got to Croatia, I thought that the parking situation would be easy here. Then I read a lot of comments about people getting fined in the Park4Night app. And although I understand why this make sense, it disappointed me and made me think. So I got into a swirl of negative thoughts about a whole lot of stuff and then… I escaped it. 💫

Again I learned more to go with what is right now and not what could happen and again I learned to see the things more as what they are. And again this concept got clear to me: we don’t perceive anything as it is. It’s more like that we are projecting a lot on the things before we perceive them but normally we don’t know about it and we are not recognizing this. So consciously we are only perceiving what got modified by our subconscious before we perceive it. Clever brain wants to save energy and prevent us from becoming mad because of to much input, but how many people got mad because of this clever concept?! 🤪🤣

Next post will be about offroading. 😳🚀

Zauberschön in Italy

After my days full of chasing summits and action in Austria, I got the feeling that some relaxing, a little more warmth, more freedom when choosing parking spots and more openness of the landscape would be nice.

Well, I found this camping spot in Italy in the area where the Alps become less and less and the beauty of this place…

I sat in the sun, read, tried to talk to some Italians, flew the drone, cooked over the fire and was admiring the fantastic view and the ever changing light.

I love these summits

These mountains and their summits… They are fascinating me since my day in Hochkrumbach. And because of that, I started to advance my hikes and after I aborted two tries and upgraded my equipment, I finally got to my first summits! Reaching the summit of Hamberg was awesome and kind of intimidating. The weather was flawless and the view astonishing! 🎉

Only as I got back below the steepest part of the ascent to the summit, I felt like I can take a real break and make some noodles. And I found some sun protection.

Thanks to a really friendly owner of a restaurant, I stayed the night on a very cool parking lot at the end of a road right at the foot of the mountains. And so I got up there again the next day. Not to a summit because the path there looked to crazy to me, but I had so much fun!

That got me really hooked and so I started the next day to the Arbis Kogel and got to it’s summit while it was snowing.

Maybe it’s the change of perspective, the excitement while going up or maybe just loneliness of ascending that got me hooked, I don’t know. But these days were the first real mountain adventures of my life and I’m very grateful, that I experienced them.

I was always fascinated about the race to the South Pole and and these snowy landscapes are reminding me about it. Amundsen was a very cool dude by the way: when he and his crew started to the South Pole, only he knew where they were going because they had planed to go to the North Pole. But the North Pole got discovered just before they started and he wanted to be the first one at a pole. And because he was afraid that his government would forbid his journey to the South Pole, he kept it secret. Here a good video about it.
