One of my favorite rock climbing places in Georgia: Arsha (August 2023)

Before we went to the Kazbegi summit, we had spent some time close to the Kazbegi in Arsha. There we had found an awesome camp spot just on the foot of the climbing crag. It was super beautiful right next to a small creek.

And the climbing routes were super nice as well. Cindy/ Racki and I did my first multi pitch climbing route and that was an awesome experience as well.

After climbing the Kazbegi summit (last post), we went back to the climbing area. Julip joined us a day later and together we had a fantastic dinner to celebrate our ascent to the Kazbegi summit. Even after one day, we were still so hungry… The waitress asked us if we were sure about the amount of food we ordered.

And we met Leon and Alma, travelers from Austria. Super nice guys. We had lots of fun together.

Take this incredible swing out of a cave over a 50m high cliff in Sveri Georgia (July 2023)

The nice guy managing the Sveri Adventure Camp and who had bolted most of the climbing routes in Georgia had built a Via Ferrata as well.

And this one is absolutely awesome! I’m sorry for spoiling this incredible swing to you but I have to.

When we started the Via Ferrata, we did not know what to expect and then the surprises were just mind blowing!

It started with an ordinary ladder and a beautiful view. Then some trunks on which you can balance on and some walking close to the cliff.

So far, so good. But then the first big surprise: a big and interesting cave you can explore.

And then close to the end: THE SWING!

We never experienced something like this before. This swing is fixed to the five meter high roof of a cave that opens up to a 50 meter deep cliff. When you swing in it, you swing over the edge of that cliff!

It was amazing!

Really, you have to go there.

Here is the location of the Via Ferrata.

An amazing waterfall hike in Georgia (July 2023)

We visited some other places and then went into the direction of the Kaghu Waterfall (see it on Google Maps). We found a nice camp spot next to the big river away from the main tourist spot.

It turned out that Anni had just found a camp spot a few hundred meters away from us. The next day we went for a waterfall hike. It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect.

On our way we met a grumpy looking but very nice dog and his dog friends, a friendly guy who was living on a hut and then we found a nice swing. It was installed next to a slope and it was awesome to swing over the highest point of the slope.

After that we went to the actual waterfalls and found. We followed a tiny path on Open Street Maps and found a super nice pond in the river of one of the waterfalls. We took a very refreshing bath and made beautiful nude. No, I won’t share them.

We continued our way and came to the biggest waterfall of the tour. It was very impressive and wet. After that the tour went through jungle terrain and we had to cross the river four or five times. Sometimes the cold water was as deep as our hips.

In the end we reached the main tourist spot which, in comparison to all the other things we’ve seen, was kind of boring.

Just before we reached our camp spot, we met a sheep so pregnant it could nearly roll. When we met her, she just lay down and could not stand up on her own. The owner just came along and pushed her up on her tiny legs. So hopefully she will give birth very soon.

Here is our tour on Komoot.
