An amazing waterfall hike in Georgia (July 2023)

We visited some other places and then went into the direction of the Kaghu Waterfall (see it on Google Maps). We found a nice camp spot next to the big river away from the main tourist spot.

It turned out that Anni had just found a camp spot a few hundred meters away from us. The next day we went for a waterfall hike. It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect.

On our way we met a grumpy looking but very nice dog and his dog friends, a friendly guy who was living on a hut and then we found a nice swing. It was installed next to a slope and it was awesome to swing over the highest point of the slope.

After that we went to the actual waterfalls and found. We followed a tiny path on Open Street Maps and found a super nice pond in the river of one of the waterfalls. We took a very refreshing bath and made beautiful nude. No, I won’t share them.

We continued our way and came to the biggest waterfall of the tour. It was very impressive and wet. After that the tour went through jungle terrain and we had to cross the river four or five times. Sometimes the cold water was as deep as our hips.

In the end we reached the main tourist spot which, in comparison to all the other things we’ve seen, was kind of boring.

Just before we reached our camp spot, we met a sheep so pregnant it could nearly roll. When we met her, she just lay down and could not stand up on her own. The owner just came along and pushed her up on her tiny legs. So hopefully she will give birth very soon.

Freestyle hiking in Georgia (July 2023)

Next stop was a very nice gorge in which we found a super nice camp spot.

We had a nice dog friend, made stick bread and did a pretty crazy hike. It started easy but soon the track ended in nothing and we continued going up the steeper and steeper slope. We even had to do some easy climbing to continue. It was pretty adventurous.

After some hours we reached the top and visited an impressive view point with a glass floor. Ani had some fear of heights but managed to face it.

After the hike we took the easy way back to our camp spot and we were gifted a lot of fruits by the locals.

What a lost place: a night in Tskaltubo (July 2023)

The next day we went to Tskaltubo. What a place!

It’s an old, lost rehabilitation area from the Soviet times and it’s absolutely fantastic to visit it.

The whole area is as big as a small town and it’s full of abandoned buildings. Some of them are as big as hotels and some of them are not completely abandoned.

When we walked through one of these empty buildings out of the sudden one door opened and an elderly woman stepped out on the floor in front of us. Pretty exciting experience.

We parked Rosinante in the yard in front of one of the buildings and slept for one night in a kind of a big balcony.

When we were exploring this huge lost place, a real gang of stray dogs accompanied us. At times we had thirteen of these fellows with us. And everyone of them had thousands of parasite friends with him.

Before we left that place, Cindy cut the fur of one of them because he was towing a big bunch of it behind him and collected all sorts of stuff while doing so.

See it on Google Maps.
