Climbing in Tbilisi and loosing the skin from my hands (September 2023)

After Serpentine had left, Racki and I went to the climbing area in the Botanical Gardens of Tbilisi.

The routes there were pretty much used and  interesting: most of them were top rope routes and instead of anchors to put your rope around, they have big metal pipes which are around twenty meters above the routes. So you have to walk up with your rope, throw it around the pipe and walk down again.

We did some climbing there, but it was not our favorite climbing crag but I used my super awesome new climbing shoes for the first time.

A friend of Cindy had given them to me for free and Serpentine had brought them from Germany. They were tied but awesome!

And my hands transformed into real climbing hands by losing all their upper skin layer. Or it was just my alien dinosaur skin renewing itself.

One of my favorite rock climbing places in Georgia: Arsha (August 2023)

Before we went to the Kazbegi summit, we had spent some time close to the Kazbegi in Arsha. There we had found an awesome camp spot just on the foot of the climbing crag. It was super beautiful right next to a small creek.

And the climbing routes were super nice as well. Cindy/ Racki and I did my first multi pitch climbing route and that was an awesome experience as well.

After climbing the Kazbegi summit (last post), we went back to the climbing area. Julip joined us a day later and together we had a fantastic dinner to celebrate our ascent to the Kazbegi summit. Even after one day, we were still so hungry… The waitress asked us if we were sure about the amount of food we ordered.

And we met Leon and Alma, travelers from Austria. Super nice guys. We had lots of fun together.

Somewhere at night high in the trees (July 2023)

So this was a typical Racki action. In the meantime I established Racki as the nickname for Cindy. The origin of this nickname is the German word “Racker” which is used to describe a mischievous or playful person who is always up to something. It’s a perfect fit for Cindy/ Racki.

Because we wanted to spare the money and found it more interesting at night, we did this high rope course at night. So you may think there is something wrong with that and I agree. But it was a lot of fun and very safe because we used our climbing safety equipment. And of course we did not break or misuse anything.
